1BK Lions Clubs--It is Lions Int'l Peace Poster time once again for students aged 11, 12 or 13 to join in the contest, sponsored by a Lions Club. For each club wishing to particpate, see the contest information on the Lions Int'l website and also in the attached PDFs. Kit for $11,95 can be ordered on LCI website or with attached order form.
Contest entire are due to PDG John Jospeh Honitoes by November 1st so that he can bring them to the District Team/Cabinet meeting in Bonfield on November 2nd where those in attendance will vote and select a winning poster to represent District 1BK, and DG Tom will submit the selected entry to LCI on behalf of our district.
Please consider your Lions Club participating in this annual contest. Again, all the inforkmation is at the above web link and in the attached PDFs.

The Family of PDG John 'Pickles' Pajkos will be holding a 'Celebration of Life' for PDG John Saturday, October 26, 2024.
It will be held at the Pavilion in Leland, 125 Ave. The Celebration will begin at Noon.
PDG John was Governor of 1-K, 2013-2014. He served 1-BK as a Foundation Trustee, and was a past president of the Foundation.

District 1BK Lions,
It is with great, great sadness that I inform you of the passing of our esteemed Lion Colleague, Cabinet Secretary, and all around Great Guy Charlie Siefert, PDG. We were informed by the Bolingbrook Lions a short time ago that Charlie passed away this morning. He has been in relatively good spirits the last week or so and was getting back into the swing of things after recent health concerns. His passing is unexpected and a shock to us all. I cannot say enough superlatives about our friend, Lion Charlie. Space here does no permit for all I can say about Lion Charlie. I have been a Lion for 24 years, and Charlie was one of the first Lions outside my club I met shortly thereafter. I know that Charlie has been there for everyone one of us in some way through the years as mentor, friend and service partner. His untimely passing leaves a great big hole in our hearts and in our service to our communities.
No arrangements have yet been received. We will send them when we receive them.
Please keep Lion Charlie, the Bolingbrook Lions, and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
